JUSTIN AMBROSE
Founder & Lead Instructor
As the founder of Performance Hockey Academy, Justin grew up playing in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). In 2008, he transitioned into a coaching role with the Humber Valley Sharks where he spent two years coaching their U18 ‘A’ team. Justin continued his desire to teach as a CPGA Golf professional for 14 years and then transitioned into high school education. He has been operating a developmental hockey division in the Peel District School Board for eight years and began coaching in Brampton Hockey’s ‘Learn to Play’ program in 2018. In 2019, he received the Lee Pettit Award for Hockey Development Coach of the Year. After coaching his four year old for two seasons, he saw the need for entry level players to have opportunities for extended development in an age appropriate group; Performance Hockey Academy was born.
When not at the rink, the father of three enjoys spending time with his family and their dogs, on nature walks, playing in their backyard, and at their family cottage.
